God’s Purpose for You…Billy Graham

Romans 11:36 NKJV – For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.

God’s Purpose For You

Have you ever wondered why God placed us on this planet? What our purpose is in being here? It is because God is love. There may be life on other planets, but I believe man is unique in the sense that he was created in the image of God. God created on this planet as it were “little gods” whom He could love and who would return love to Him. Reverently speaking, God was lonely. He wanted someone to love and who would return love to Him. That sounds incredible, but the Bible tells us that God loved, and so He created and put us on this planet.

Daily Prayer

Freely I love You, divine God, who daily brings joy to my soul.

John Piper on Christ’s Main Purpose…

LUKE 5:32 ESV – “I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.”
JOHN 3:17 ESV – For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
MARK 10:45 ESV – For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

God is not only a God of terrible holiness and wrath; he is also a God rich in mercy.

And so he sent his Son into the world, not condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him from God’s own wrath (John 3:17).

He came not to be served but to give his life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45). To lay down his life for the sheep (John 10:15). To bear our sins in his body on the tree (1 Peter 2:24). To provide us with a righteousness that comes, not from our law-keeping, but through faith (Philippians 3:9). And to reconcile us to God (2 Corinthians 5:18; 1 Peter 3:18).

All the children of wrath may become children of the Father through Jesus Christ.

An aging abortionist, after 3,000 abortions, can become a child of God. She could hear Jesus say, on her death bed, “Today you will be with me in paradise.”

The same is true for the mother of five aborted children. And for the selfish, responsibility-shirking boyfriend. And for the secretive, shame-fearing, overbearing parent. And for the desperate 14-year-old girl.

Jesus did not mainly come to stop abortions in this world. He came mainly to die for abortion-committing sinners. “I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance” (Luke 5:32).

There is one way to know God as your Father. And it’s the same for the people at Planned Parenthood, and the people at Pro-life Action, and the people at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Come to Jesus.

“Abortion and the Narrow Way That Leads to Life”

Why They Came

About fifty years prior to the coming of Christ, Julius Caesar is famous for saying, ” Veni, vidi, vici.”  His report on the outcome of his British campaign was very short: “I came, I saw, I conquered.”  He was a war machine, apt for that in every way.  His place in history is well-defined in that way.

People were not as sure about Christ’s purpose on this earth, so He had to declare himself.  In one such declaration in
John 10:10b (NKJV) Jesus states,  “… I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

One came to take life and the other to give abundant life.  Given a choice of which one to interact with, who would choose the killer?  I choose abundant life.  What about you?

Billy Graham on Your Creation

that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is  with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

God Made You

God made you! You were fashioned in His own image! You were made in the image and likeness of the Creator. God had a purpose in making you. His primary purpose is that you would have fellowship with Him. If man does not have fellowship with God, he is lost, confused, and bewildered. Since he does not find his place, he has a sense of not fitting. There are thousands of people who admit and confess that they are unhappy. Economic security, recreation, pleasure, and a goodk community in which to live have not brought about the peace and happiness that they expected. The reason is that man was created in the image of God and cannot find complete rest, happiness, joy, and peace until he comes back to God.

Daily Prayer

Help me this day, Father, to tell others of the fellowship that can be theirs. Your love will enable me.
