A time to cast away stones….

A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; (‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬ KJV)

A time to gather stones together. I have a friend who works in the trades. He is a licensed plumber. Some time ago, we prayed that his business would increase. Since that time, there were times when he had so much business, he could hardly keep up.
We would joke about all the business, “should I pray that business slow down?” He would say, when I remember you taking my phone off the hook and praying that God ring that phone with business to support my family, I cannot ask God to stop ringing the phone. There is a time to gather stones and a time to cast them away…
Last night, my friend was not home. I received a call, “do you know someone who can replace my water heater?” —It wasn’t enough to call my friend to feed God’s people, now I am getting calls too! …a time to gather stones together! God is good to me and my friends…whether I be casting stones forth or gathering them up. Praise be to God, my Heavenly Father!

Verse of the Day – June 6th

http://bible.com/114/gal2.20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Galations 2:20

I love being in fellowship with God.  He is close to me, but never closer than fourty-five years ago.  On that date, my eldest son was born.  I  can only image God’s pleasure in His son, not born as we are, but nevertheless created in His image.
He loves His son as I love my son.  Having this in common makes fellowship sweeter.
We give ourselves to each other in fellowship and I thank Him for his care and interest in us.
Praise be to the Father, praise be to the son and praise be to thè Holy Spirit!  Amen!

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Ephesians 3:20-21 (NKJV)

And in that day you will say: “Praise the Lord , call upon His name; Declare His deeds among the peoples, Make mention that His name is exalted. Sing to the Lord , For He has done excellent things; This is known in all the earth.
Isaiah 12:4-5 (NKJV)

PSALM 100:1-5 ESV – Make a joyful noise to the Lord , all the earth!   Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!  Know that the Lord , he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.   Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!   For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Major Themes L – Worship

PSALM 29:1-11 ESV

Ascribe to the Lord , O heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.  Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.  The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord , over many waters.  The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.  The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord breaks the cedars of Lebanon.  He makes Lebanon to skip like a calf, and Sirion like a young wild ox.  The voice of the Lord flashes forth flames of fire.  The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness; the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.  The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth and strips the forests bare, and in his temple all cry, “Glory!”  The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord sits enthroned as king forever.  May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace!

Rediscovering the Christmas Season XIII – Concert

Concert

Exposure: Read the passage. Make arrangements to go watch a Christmas concert or play. Go outside your normal circles and attend one at a church you’ve never visited or in a part of town you don’t often drive through.

Exploration: What part of the concert or play meant the most to you? What did you learn just from the setting and the people you watched it with?

Expression: How is God like a conductor or director? How can you apply the discipline of rehearsal to improve your relationship with God?

Experience: Discuss with friends or family or journal about a time in your life when you were completely in tune with what God wanted for your life. What are some spiritual disciplines that you need to rehearse more regularly to get back in sync with God?

Psalms 150:1-6 NKJV

Praise the Lord !
Praise God in His sanctuary;
Praise Him in His mighty firmament!
Praise Him for His mighty acts;

Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!
Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet;
Praise Him with the lute and harp!
Praise Him with the timbrel and dance;

Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!
Praise Him with loud cymbals;
Praise Him with clashing cymbals!
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord .

Praise the Lord !

Major Themes XXX – God’s Name

PSALM 113:1-9 NKJV

Praise the Lord ! Praise, O servants of the Lord , Praise the name of the Lord ! Blessed be the name of the Lord From this time forth and forevermore! From the rising of the sun to its going down The Lord ’s name is to be praised. The Lord  is  high above all nations, His glory above the heavens. Who is like the Lord our God, Who dwells on high, Who humbles Himself to behold The  things  that  are in the heavens and in the earth? He raises the poor out of the dust, And lifts the needy out of the ash heap, That He may seat him with princes— With the princes of His people. He grants the barren woman a home, Like a joyful mother of children. Praise the Lord !
