…a Time to Dance…

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; (‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3‬:‭4‬ KJV)
It is certainly true that I am now into a different season. Anyone who ever witnessed me trying to dance (in my younger life) would attest that it certainly was not a time for that! I had the weeping, laughing and mourning down pat. I especially had the laughing part perfected. But dancing? There never seemed enough time for that.
Although there were different types of dancing, I did not participate in any. I was far too awkward for social dancing. Modern dance? I just didn’t get it. There were forms of dance that I could not even find a name for much less participate. It was not “time” for that.
But the new season that I am in allows for yet another type of dancing…the expressions from deep inside of me that bring me to profound rejoicing! This is not a celebration of legs only, or any other body parts exclusively or specifically. It is rather a body and soul celebration that surpasses all bodily dance in joyous participation. It is a party of soul and God’s presence that brings about true joy, real Godly presence, and spiritual renewal.
The season has passed for my physical dance manifestations, such as they were. However, in this time of God’s “seasons” it is as if my Saviour has spoken to me in a personal way…”Daryl, it is time. Would you like to dance?”

Billy Graham on Psalm 27:5-6

PSALM 27:5-6 NKJV

For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord .

Count Your Blessings

Christians are not altogether immune from depression. The fact is: the trend of events and the mounting tide of evil are enough to give one sobering thoughts—Christian or not. David, the sweet singer of Israel, was not always on top of his depression. Sometimes his glad song was turned to a depressive mourning. “My tears have been my meat day and night, while continually they say unto me, Where is thy God? Why art thou cast down, O my soul, and why art thou disquieted in me?” I find that the cure for depression is praise. In other words: be so busy counting your blessings, that thoughts of gloom and despair will be crowded out.

Daily Prayer

Thank You, heavenly Father, for the Psalms which help me see that even in the depths David talked with You. Whatever my circumstances, I will learn to praise You.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Live Creatively for Christ by Billy Graham

Romans 12:10 NKJV.

Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;

Live Creatively for Christ

Living creatively for Christ in the home is the acid test for any Christian man or woman. It is far easier to live an excellent life among your friends, when you are putting your best foot forward and are conscious of public opinion, than it is to live for Christ in your home. Your own family circle knows whether Christ lives in you and through you. If you are a true Christian, you will not give way at home to bad temper, impatience, fault-finding, sarcasm, unkindness, suspicion, selfishness, or laziness. Instead, you will reveal through your daily life the fruit of the Spirit, which is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, and all the other Christian virtues which round out a Christ-like personality.

Daily Prayer

My family, Lord, knows the real me—they deserve so much more. May I live so close to You that Your love will flow through me to them.

Our Daily Bread Christmas Edition X – A Message From God – finale

HEBREWS 1:1-9 NKJV – God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. For to which of the angels did He ever say: “You are My Son, Today I have begotten You”? And again: “I will be to Him a Father, And He shall be to Me a Son”? But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: “Let all the angels of God worship Him.” And of the angels He says: “Who makes His angels spirits And His ministers a flame of fire.” But to the Son He  says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”

A Message From God

In 1971, Ray Tomlinson was experimenting with ways people and computers could interact. When he sent a message from his computer through a network to a different unit in his office, he had sent the first email. Now decades later, more than a billion emails are sent every day. Many contain important news from family and friends, but others may carry unwanted advertising or a destructive virus. A basic rule governing email use is: “Don’t open it unless you trust the sender.”

God has sent us a message in the Person of His Son, and we can trust the Sender. In the Old Testament, God spoke to His people through the prophets and many rejected God’s Word. But it was all leading to this: “Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe” (Hebrews 1:1-2).

We may be awed by the inexplicable mystery of Almighty God entering our world as a baby, yet remain hesitant to embrace Christ fully and place our lives in His hands.

Christmas is the unforgettable message of love, redemption, and hope sent by God. Will you trust the Sender and His message today? —DAVID MCCASLAND

God’s timeless message of hope is waiting to be received.

Billy Graham on the Resurrection!

LUKE 24:6 NKJV – He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,

What Makes Christianity Different?

Something distinguishes Christianity from all the religions of the world. Not only does it carry the truth of the redemption, by the death of our Savior for our sins on the cross, but it carries the fact that Christ rose again. Only the Christian faith claims that its Leader died and rose again and is alive at this moment. Many gravestones carry the inscription, “Here lies . . . ,” but on Christ’s tomb are emblazoned the words, “He is not here.” Christianity has no shrines to visit, no dusty remains to;; venerate, no tombs at which to worship. Many good men have lived, and still live, in the memory of those who knew them, but there is only one Man who conquered death—Jesus Christ—and He will live forever.

The account of Your resurrection never ceases to bring me joy, Lord Jesus.
