The good I want to do, I do not do; the evil that I do not want to do, I do. I grieve, for my temper, my pride, my self-will, the bad thoughts I permit, the unkind, things I say. But you knew all this before you awakened me. Have compassion and save me!
Holy Savior! Undertake the care of our failures that might lead us to despair, and the joy of our successes that might induce pride. Make right what is wrong; undo what is done amiss; establish, strengthen and prosper all you can use.
“Make me to hate evil and to cling to that which is good. Take away my heart of stone, and give me a heart of flesh. Deliver me from my idols. Take away my love of sin. Put your Spirit within me, and cause me to walk in your way.”
You are a covenant-keeping God! Your righteousness is like the great mountains; may I keep it in view always. Your faithfulness reaches to the skies; help me to count on it in every step of this day’s pilgrimage.
Holy, holy, holy, are you, O God! Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Every day is a day that you have made. May I hunger no more, neither thirst any more, because I am satisfied with the abundance of your house, and have drunk from the river of your pleasure. Daily Prayers: A Classic Collection.
“I pray for my companions in life’s pilgrimage: for the feeble and the dying; for the despondent and the oppressed; for the poor and sick and forlorn. May their valleys of weeping become filled with springs of joy.”
O Divine Lord! When I am most absorbed in my necessary
business, may you not withdraw your presence, but be permanent and abiding. May I be faithful to you in little things, following the inner light until it leads me into the perfect day.

Philippians 4:8 (NKJV) 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy–meditate on these things.
“…there is more to prayer than just trying to get something from God. In prayer you may find that God will do something through you for those who are so much on your mind and in your heart.” –Tony Campolo
So much of my life, I limited God by praying for what I wanted. The limit was my imagination. It was selfish of me, but I was really cheating myself, for God has things in store for us that we cannot ask or think!
Ephesians 3:20 (ASV)- Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Now I find that I can pray “God’s will” and just wait for the incredible result. God CAN use us to bless those close to us, and we don’t have to do anything but allow the Holy Spirit to work through us!
Grand Canyon- One of God’s Wonders
Let us pray: “God, let me always look for your will in the world around me; Help me to stop looking for my own way, because it limits me and those around me.”
