A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; (Ecclesiastes 3:6 KJV)
When God designed our lives, He did not make us unbeatable…He set up a time to win, but also a time to lose! In this way, we learn that we do not always get our own way. We have a time to get and a time to lose. Life would not work well if there was no time to lose, and we went on winning (or getting) all the time. It is important in those times of loss to remember that your plight is ordained by God. We should be patient with loss, for He allows it, I.e. It is part of His plan! We please our Father not by just winning, but by our acceptance of all of His plan. I accept loss (a time to lose) as much as winning, and I have plans to embrace His plan, no matter where it takes me. Thanks be to our Heavenly Father for His perfect plan!
Prayer: Lord, help me to be thankful for all the elements of your plan! May I be willing to embrace your will at all times!
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; (Ecclesiastes 3:5 KJV)
A time to gather stones together. I have a friend who works in the trades. He is a licensed plumber. Some time ago, we prayed that his business would increase. Since that time, there were times when he had so much business, he could hardly keep up.
We would joke about all the business, “should I pray that business slow down?” He would say, when I remember you taking my phone off the hook and praying that God ring that phone with business to support my family, I cannot ask God to stop ringing the phone. There is a time to gather stones and a time to cast them away…
Last night, my friend was not home. I received a call, “do you know someone who can replace my water heater?” —It wasn’t enough to call my friend to feed God’s people, now I am getting calls too! …a time to gather stones together! God is good to me and my friends…whether I be casting stones forth or gathering them up. Praise be to God, my Heavenly Father!
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
God appoints the seasons and appointed the time when each of us was born. He also has appointed our time of death. He likens this to planting and plucking up. (Ecc3:2-kjv)
Every living thing seems to seek prolongment for its existence. Even when going to a new season, it seeks to maximize. God has set seasons for good cause and we work better in each season, when we adapt appropriately to the tasks and challenges within God’s plan.
It would be foolish to argue with God about our times. He has set seasons within those times for our benefit, to help us progress through life. I am not one to plant in the winter or look to harvest in the spring. Things do not work properly “out of season.” It is best to follow God’s plan.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: (Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV)
A Change of Seasons
I have been active in ways some others merely dream of
Seasons which may be long and arduous!
Changes are evident, and I enter therein.
I am officially in a change of seasons…
I came from a season where God was making known his will…
And I worked tirelessly to find His Will and do it. I became an instrument of
His grace—doing everything in my power to share His message…for a season.
Now I find myself in a “change of seasons.”
I cannot accomplish the same feats as before…
Disability has limited my efforts, but I am not forsaken
By the God of my youth…he has accommodated me!
I am now receiving His grace in a different way.
Where I used to be the messenger, I am now the receiver.
I used to work tirelessly to serve, now my strength wanes…
But He upholds my strength and fortifies me. I was
Strong, now I am dependent upon Him and His Grace.
I have truly changed…the season has changed…I am still useful to Him!
Long enough, GOD — you’ve ignored me long enough. I’ve looked at the back of your head long enough. Long enough I’ve carried this ton of trouble, lived with a stomach full of pain. Long enough my arrogant enemies have looked down their noses at me.
Take a good look at me, GOD, my God; I want to look life in the eye, So no enemy can get the best of me or laugh when I fall on my face.
I’ve thrown myself headlong into your arms— I’m celebrating your rescue. I’m singing at the top of my lungs, I’m so full of answered prayers. (Psalm 13:1-6 MSG)
I find myself feeling the way the Psalmist does in this passage on occasion. It is NOT appropriate for me to feel sorry for myself and to exhibit these negative thoughts. God has blessed me beyond anything I deserve! I have found that He is absolutely faithful…sometimes, even when I am not!
Prayer: LORD…Help me to keep my attitude
Right. Thank you for loving me and intervening in my life. I love you for that!
I John 4:15-16
15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. [NKLV]
God Loves You!
Never question God’s great love, for it is as unchangeable a part of God as is His holiness. Were it not for the love of God, none of us would ever have a chance in the future life. But God is love! And His love for us is everlasting.
The promises of God’s love and forgiveness are as real, as sure, as positive, as human words can make them. But, like describing the ocean, its total beauty cannot be understood until it is actually seen. It is the same with God’s love. Until you actually possess true peace with God, no one can describe its wonders to you.
Yes, almighty God, I have felt the consolation of Your love!
16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 KJV)
If we really believe this, we will worry less!

Praise be to God, who hears our prayers!

Good advice for living.
