The Promise…

Psalms 126:6 NKJV

He who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with  him.

This verse out of a Psalm of Ascents is so poignant, that when I meditate on it, I think of it as the promise!  There is no other quite like it…  It is so powerful that it has no conditions or terms.  It is just in your face powerful, authored by He who cannot lie.  Sow your seed and show some emotion.  Prepare your heart for exceptional victory and celebration worthy of the Son of God.  Faith and the practice of sowing & reaping have a special place in our liturgy.

Enjoy the harvest that God has planned for you through application of “the promise.”

Peace be unto all of you.

  1. Nice – and also even though we are sowing in sorrow (dealing with our trials and challenges) they are not wasted because God will turn our tears into joy as we reap. Our trials help us to grow, even if they are tough and undesired.

  2. So true. Rejoice and be glad for our promises are many in Christ. Jo-humming like Winnie the Poohs Eeor may return more depression. Sometimes it amazes me where the seeds Christ sows fall. At times I think no one is listening, but a sower keeps sowing because they can’t help themselves, the spirit of Christ is alive in them so it over flows and out pours. Every now and than a friend says something or turns to Christ and comes to me letting me know they heard the word of God I’ve been ministering year after year and that is when I know and am surprised and blessed that these seeds we sow–we do not know where they land, but that are never for nought. The do not fall on deaf ears even when we receive no instant gratification–someone hears–some needs it.
