Immigration Policy and the Mind of God

Immigration Policy and the Mind of God

We are one in Christ. I think I have the mind of God in this matter of immigration. What do you think? Be honest.

    1. Love says it all. Love does not discriminate, nor exclude huge classes of people from the good stuff. We are commanded to love our enemy and do good for those who persecute us. How much more should we care for our neighbors?

      1. Oh okay–I was thinking of the verses (I’ll need to look them up again) about not treating the “aliens” badly–I interpreted that as “foreigners”. Yes, we’re supposed to love everybody, no partiality–even when it pinches!! (that would be my neighbors…)

      2. You were correct to point out that I was not making my point. My subtle approach was too little! I have posted a fuller explanation in the comments of the post. Did you like my sombrero?

      3. Thanks for being so gracious, Daryl–I hoped you would see my comment/question as reflecting genuine interest in what you had to share! So–is the sombrero the real deal– “made in Mexico”? Muy bien, mi hermano de Cristo y amigo–Ole!!

      4. Oh WOW–we probably have Chevy’s around here–I LOVE Mexican food, but don’t go out. I could make some tacos, though–hmmm, sounds really good.

  1. I HAVE BEEN ASKED BY SEVERAL PEOPLE TO EXPLAIN MYSELF. IF WE DO NOT INTEGRATE THE GOLDEN RULE INTO OUR POLICY, WE FAIL OURSELVES, THE IMMIGRANTS AND GOD. IF WE ARE FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO BE BORN TO PRIVILEGE, WE SHOULD BE WILLING TO SHARE. I PUT ON THE SOMBRERO TO ILLUSTRATE MY SYMPATHY WITH LATINOS WHO ARE AT THE CENTER OF THE CONTROVERSY. WE NEED TO LOVE OUR NEIGHBORS, THOSE WHO PERSECUTE US, THOSE WHO DESPITEFULY USE US, ETC. THERE IS NO SPACE IN THE CHRISTIAN WALK FOR THE TREATMENT MANY SUGGEST IS APPROPRIATE FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS. I DO NOT SPEAK FOR THE DESPICABLE WORLD OF POLITICS, BUT IN CHRIST’S CIRCLE, WE KNOW HOW WE OUGHT TO LIVE. TIME TO APPLY WHAT WE HAVE LEARNED.
